Gentle Deep Stretch
Why Gentle Deep Stretch? These classes target the connective tissues of the body and the fascia that covers the body. Mainly done on the floor, these classes are very different than our power classes. You’ll relax in the posture and soften muscles. You’ll work to access the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia; many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). As we age, flexibility in the joints decreases and this is a great way to maintain flexibility – something that for most of us don’t seem to be too concerned about until we notice it is gone. Sixty and 75 minute, slow, deep, long holding stretch classes are necessary for deep muscle release and recovery in all areas of the body. You will leave these classes looser and lighter. The class is led in a 78 degree heated room to keep the body warm but not overheated. This class is a perfect space to practice patience, slow movement and deep breathing.
